Holiday at Bundanoon

Here are some photos from our recent holiday at Bundanoon.

We stayed at Morvern Valley, which was lovely.
Our own cabin looking out on a paddock filled with farm animals.

At the top of this post can see the living area.
All the furniture in the cabin seemed to be thrifted or antique.
I loved the old photos on the wall.

This was our bedroom, very pink and pretty,
and the highest bed we ever slept in.

The kitchen was cute

... but somewhat impractical

... which led us to go out for dinner more often than planned ...

This was Emily's room, which she loved

... and Laura slept here.

It was chilly and we had a log fire going most of the time, day and night.

You can see more of Morvern Valley here at the website.

Royal Wedding Evening

Tonight we will enjoy watching the Royal Wedding

eating:
crackers & hummus
mini ricotta & spinach rolls
party pies
potato wedges
salad
mini bread rolls

strawberry cheesecake
perhaps some chocolate cupcakes
decorated with the toppers above
(conveniently left from my Stampin' Up! launch)

decorating:
loving the printables here
and will be making some bunting

enjoying:
every minute!

(at least we girls will ...)

Easter Evening

Christ is Risen!

He is Risen indeed!

(Not our church but a church where we enjoyed a folk concert
at a festival exactly one year ago, today!)

We have had a good Easter:

Church
Family lunch
Roast Lamb
Apple Pie
Balderdash
Chocolate (but not for me)

And now a quiet Sunday evening at home

then two more days of the weekend to enjoy!

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay"
Matthew 28:6

By the Lake

Last week we went on a holiday to Bundanoon and Kiama.
After a term of whooping cough and busyness we really needed a break.

We left on Monday and stopped for lunch at Mittagong

and enjoyed the sunshine

and the ducks

and the beautiful Lake Alexandra Reserve.

. . .

Our next stop was Berrima, which the girls insisted on visiting ...

"... because it's tradition!"

And really, what's not to love about Berrima?

Our little rascal was kept out of mischief for a little while, too.

Pizza, anyone?

Mmm .... pizza

Created by very cute pizza chefs

Phone now ...

... to have pizza delivered to your door!

Loving seeing the girls play with Sylvanian Families in the dolls house.

Emily just bought this pizza kitchen set to add to the collection

and it looks like we'll have pizzas cooking all day here ...

Leaving the Perfect Job

For the past 5 years I've had the Perfect Job.

Teaching piano to primary school students

In school time.

Two days a week.

In the suburb I grew up in, about 20 minutes away.

* * *

I stayed there because I loved it.

Yes, some days were better than others

(Some days I was falling asleep next to the piano
... that was before the school provided a lovely new room with a window and a view)

... but overall, I loved it.

But part of me wanted to be home more,

and have more spontaneous time on my calendar.

I would sometimes dream of Something happening

to stop me teaching at the school.

Because I was never going to give it up,

although we didn't really need the money,

because I loved it, and it was Perfect.

Last year in an effort to Slow Down I dropped to just one day a week.

This year, I stopped loving it.

I don't know why.

Maybe because a few of my long-term students left last year.

. . .

And then Something happened a few weeks ago to make me give it up.

Let's just say that school politics and policies were involved.

So ... I gave it up.

Yesterday was my last day.

And they gave me flowers.
