On Thursday I picked up two vintage suitcases at my new favourite op shop.
I was looking for a big brown one to go with the two I bought last year.
I'll show you my stack once I've gotten rid of those drawers,
which used to be in our bedroom
and now need a new home.
And couldn't I resist this little blue suitcase.
Although I didn't really need it ...
Which now holds all our DVD series.
Perfect.
Turns out I did need it, after all!

Have you seen the tutorial about covering the outsides of these old suitcases with vintage fabric? They look even more gorgeous- I think you use my old friend Mod Podge. I have been looking but the only ones I have seen at the oppie cost a fortune as they are quite trendy now. melx
the link to the tutorial is on a lovely blog called teawagontales.blogspot.com.au - go to May and find the post called " modge podge and markets" and you will see her cases and the link to the tutorial. i was swooning myself! melx
Ooh thanks Mel! Am having ideas now about covering some of my suitcases on the inside ... couldn't bring myself to cover the outsides and I want a quiet calm look in the living room (craft room is a different story!)
Were is your fav op shop? Was strange not being away with you this weekend - would have loved more crochet lessons too!!
We missed you and would have loved you crocheting with us too ... Favourite op shop is the local Salvos Family Store.
Hi Fiona, found and lost your blog a few months ago.Loved how you extended upstairs.
Ooh, no never too many suitcases, although I may have reached saturation.
Still love them. Love what you did with the DVD's.
