I never got to post about my birthday, back on 2nd September.
I took the day off from casual teaching, and Steve took the day off, too.
I was spoilt with presents, including some great art books, so after the girls left for school I spent a leisurely morning reading one of them with a cup of tea.
Then we headed out and met Mum and Dad at Thr1ve at for a healthy paleo lunch. It was so good to know that I wasn't breaking my diet (too much ;) Yum.
Then we went walking around Rhodes, beginning with the Kokoda Trail and then walking around the foreshore.
It's a really interesting walk with historical buildings, and constantly changing environments. (And some hospital carparks)
At this part of the walk we really felt like we were in the country, rather than right in the middle of Sydney.
When we arrived home, a friend dropped in with some flowers, I love yellow and purple together.
I also received some lovely handmade cards.
Emily stitched this verse on card, so clever.
Some piano students gave me pink gerberas
and these were most of my birthday presents, plus some Faber Castell Gelatos, so you can see I was truly spoilt.
For dinner we had Thai takeaway, which was not so diet-friendly, but still delicious, and much-deserved after such a healthy lunch and 1.5hrs of walking ;)
I was so grateful for the love from my family and friends, the sunshine, good food and good times.
