Today I thought I would show some of the doilies I've collected.
This one is just tiny, I don't remember even seeing this one before ... (hmmm maybe that is a sign that I have too many doilies ... or not!)
Love the shape and the embroidery and edging.
This one is classic with the parasols .... love it! Sorry I didn't iron it for the photo, I'm right in the middle of finishing a quilt, and there's time to blog but not time to iron LOL.
I love the blue and pink and green - just what I would choose to embroider it myself!
Check out those lazy daisies!
And I have a matching pair of these ones, which seem much older and finer. (See the winter sunlight shining on our coffee table through the trees? It's just about as cold inside as out, too!)
The crosstitched section on these is about 1 inch square, it's very fine.
I'm pretty sure all these doilies were thrifted, but one day I'll show you some which belonged to family. Check out more vintage goodies at Confessions of an Apron Queen.

I love the parasol one, it is really really sweet! I collect old doileys too. :)
They are soooo pretty, not something
you see very often today. I really
love all the small flowers and details on all of them!
Those are just beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
ooh I love doilies, some creative clever person made those that's for sure :-)
What workmanship, you just don't see it that much anymore! I wonder if people who don't stitch realize the work that goes into these? I have some family doilies, hankies, etc., but none these detailed.
It's always amazing to me the amount of craftWOMANship that goes into these doilies. Beautiful.
I love the umbrella one. LOL I blog plenty, but don't always get around to ironing. I have so many aprons that I sometimes find one that I don't even remember too! :D
They're beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

So many hours of work went into these. I embroider and I know. It warms my heart to see things like this so appreciated. It boggles my mind when I see tiny cross stitch like that too!
Of course blogging comes before ironing. At least it always does for me!
What lovely stitching! Those parasols are my fave, too. What great shape they all are in, and I forgive you for not ironing LOL!
I took out a tea towel for last week's Vintage Thingies and still can't figure why it was already ironed since I don't do that kind of thing every often. The doilies are beautiful. I love the lazy daisies in that parasol. If you promise to show more doily pictures, I will be back. :)
